Jubilee: St. James at 200 | Film Screening and Panel Discussion

Friday, September 5 | 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Join the Reginald F. Lewis Museum for a film screening celebrating the legacy of the oldest African American Episcopal church in the southern United States. This 65 minute documentary by filmmaker, Russell Sharman, highlights St. James Church in west Baltimore and its recent 200th anniversary.  A panel discussion will follow the film screening and church artifacts are currently on view in the exhibition, Stitched in Favor, 200  years of the Historic St. James Episcopal Church at the Maryland Center for History and Culture.

Panelists include:

  • Rebecca Johns Hackett, BCCC Historian and contributor to the Stitched in Favor Exhibition

  • Dr. Lawrence Jackson, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of English and History, Johns Hopkins University
