Exhibit on view from May 4, 2026 to February 28, 2027
The Reginald F. Lewis Museum, in collaboration with the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA), proudly presents the High School Juried Art Show 2026: Commemorating 250 Years of Black Experience. This exhibition celebrates the artistic excellence and creative vision of young artists from across the Maryland community.
The 2026 exhibition draws inspiration from significant national milestones, including the United States Semiquincentennial (America 250) and the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) 2026 Black History theme: A Century of Black History Commemorations. Participating students were invited to examine and interpret the African American experience through the lens of this nation’s 250 year history. The resulting collection features a diverse array of media, including acrylic and oil paintings, digital art, and
mixed-media compositions.
