Keep On Keepin' On
(86 mins) He was a mentor to Miles Davis and Quincy Jones and one of the few performers to have played in both Count Basie's and Duke Ellington's bands. Keep On Keepin’ On depicts the remarkable story of 93-year-old jazz legend Clark Terry, and his most unlikely collaborator, a 23-year old piano prodigy named Justin Kauflin, who is blind. Justin, fighting a debilitating case of stage fright, is invited to compete in a prestigious competition, while Clark’s health takes a serious turn. The result is an intimate portrait of two remarkable men: a student striving against all odds, and a teacher who continues to inspire through the power of music. In observance of Jazz Appreciation Month. Winner, Audience Award, International Tribeca Film Festival 2014.
