(38 mins) Driver is a short film about a gypsy cab operator who, as an estranged father, is given a second chance at fatherhood after a family tragedy. Darryl decides to embrace the role while most men, estranged from years of not being with their children, might have stayed away. What follows is Darryl’s story of self-healing. Directed and written by Yucef Mayes. A post-film discussion follows with the filmmaker and Actor/Executive Producer Rodney Gilbert. In conjunction with the current exhibit Sons: Seeking the Modern African American Male.
