(91 mins) A group of gay and trans teens of color, who are fed up with being pushed around, form a gang called “Check It.” They fight back on the brutal streets of Washington, D.C. This raw and intimate portrait follows three childhood friends as they struggle to escape gang life towards a dream for a place in the world of fashion. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival 2016. Variety magazine calls the documentary "engrossing, well-crafted" with an "attention-grabbing subject." A post-film discussion follows.
