With education as the primary mission, the Museum and the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) developed a partnership to reach more than 860,000 students and 50,000 teachers in Maryland’s public schools through a K-12 state-wide curriculum, teacher programs and museum based programs.

The Reginald F. Lewis Museum offers education programs that encourage students, educators and families to celebrate and think critically about African American history and culture in Maryland. The museum’s collection explores the African American experience and tells the universal story of the struggle for liberty, equality and self-determination.
